About the Library
Overview
Library service was first established in Sweet Home in 1942. Although the Library has an old-fashioned card catalog, automation has been a goal for many years.

AUTOMATION UPDATE - 2010: It is done!!! Following 3 months of barcoding and entering over 35,000 items into a new computer system then 3 days of training, the library officially opened Thursday morning, June 10, 2010 with a fully automated card catalog system.

Cardholders can now log into the library's electronic card catalog, search for books and reserve materials from their home.  The new website is:  www.youseemore.com/sweethomepl

For more information contact (541) 367-5007.

Summer Reading
Now that automation is done, the 2010 Summer Reading will begin in August. Summer Reading has become so successful that we now divide the children into five groups. For the last several years, Summer Reading has served over 700 children per summer.

Tots & Preschoolers' Summer Reading Programs are held on Tuesdays and Juniors, Tweens & Teens programs are held on Wednesdays.

More information on dates and times will follow as summer nears. Pre-registration will open in June. Watch for details in our local newspaper and online.
