The Sweet Home Public Library is part of the Linn Libraries Consortium. You may find a book in a series, for instance, that you have been waiting for in Albany.  Using your Library card, place the item on hold and a courier will deliver it to the Sweet Home Library for you to pick up.  When you're done reading it, return it to the Library and a courier will take it back to the Albany Library.  It is just that simple.

Interlibrary Loan
Can't find the book you need at our Library?  The Sweet Home Library offers Interlibrary Loan services for Cardholders.

What is an Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary loans allow staff to obtain materials that are not available at our Sweet Home Library.  The Library requests them for you from another library. There is a $3.00 fee for postage.  Please limit your requests to five a week and do check our online catalog before requesting ILLs.

Making an ILL Request

First check our online catalog to make sure you cannot already obtain the material.

Then use the Fillable ILL Form to submit your request.  You will need to print and bring the completed form into the Library so the request can be made.

What Happens When Materials Arrive?

You will be contacted by phone so please make sure you have a good phone number listed on your form and message phone number if necessary.  Requests generally take 1-2 weeks to complete.  Uncommon items may take longer.  You will be instructed to pick up and return items at the Circulation Desk - two weeks is the common loan period for interlibrary loan items.  Ask Library staff if renewal is possible.
